Everlasting Ink is what started as a passion project but turned into much more. The idea was to create a tattoo design with a meaning behind each part. Tattoos may be skin deep, but their significance sometimes goes deeper. The messages sent by body art are an individual's self-expression, but there are recurring motifs that can often tell you something about the wearer.
The initial design was just a snake on its own. Historically and across cultures, serpents represent fertility and a creative life force. Since they shed their skins, they are apt symbols of transformation, rebirth, healing, and immortality. However, in the minds of many, snakes often represent the evil side of life. This was not what was intended for the design. A rose tattoo has the representation of the highest level of passion. Beauty is in balance with emotion with this design, and no other can replicate its beauty and historical significance. Adding roses to the snake gave the tattoo design a new meaning. Together, snakes and roses are the ultimate symbols of temptation. Roses are a symbol of innocence, and the snake, a symbol of destruction and ruin of purity. Just as the serpent took away mankind's innocence.

The colours of the tattoo, blue and red, are used to create a contrast between the subjects of the illustration. Although there are many different colours of roses, generally people think of red roses especially when it comes to love and happiness. Opposite of the beauty that the rose holds, is the ugliness and evil of the snake. The blue in the snake creates contrast and shows the struggle between positive and negative emotions in our everyday world.
