During my time working for Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador, I got to redesign the Climate Change Crew illustrations for an educational program geared towards teaching children about climate change and environmental responsibility.
The aim of the illustrations was to present information regarding various climate-related issues in an accessible manner that was both friendly and fun. Every illustration conveyed a message regarding sustainability and the environment that kids can learn through education as well as simple ways to help the environment by making changes at home.
The style of illustration involved the use of expressive elements, bold colours, and simplistic shapes that could easily be understood without fear by the targeted audience. This would ensure that kids were able to remember them and enjoy them as they took in the information presented.
